Our Story

Mitchell-Joseph Insurance Agency in Naples, NY, with offices in Honeoye Falls and Rushville, NY, traces its roots back to 1961 when it operated as Stuart J. Mitchell Agencies, Inc. The name was changed to Mitchell-Joseph Insurance Agency in 1991 when Edward Joseph purchased the agency. Later, Ed’s sons, Michael and Jeff, ran the agency for over 20 years. Michael has since retired and the agency is now majority-owned by Jeff Joseph, who has helped build the insurance agency since 1999. Cindy Dunton, a long-time employee, is also a part owner in the business. In 2021, Mitchell-Joseph Insurance launched its new website and also created a new Insurance Blog to answer the most common insurance questions and to assist customers in making informed decisions about their insurance policies.

Location, Location, Location

How did we grow our business to include three Finger Lakes locations? The headquarters of the Stuart J. Mitchell Agency is located in Naples, NY. A Rushville, NY agency was purchased and became part of the Mitchell-Joseph Insurance family. In 1999, the agency purchased Farm & Country Insurance and moved it to Honeoye Falls, NY, where they now share space with our Mitchell-Joseph team. Three locations allow us to serve our clients across the Finger Lakes Region, including Rochester and Canandaigua, NY.
